I will not go Ancestry’s route of online-only trees because I think that was a terrible idea. I’m afraid this is going to be a nightmare, and at this point, I’m worried that I need to start looking at other software options to switch to. My personal opinion – I think Ancestry made a huge mistake by selling the rights to a company that has never handled a volume of customers or data this large. The one email they’ve sent out to those who pre-ordered wasn’t sent out until Sunday morning, April 2nd, and advised us to visit their Support page to stay updated.Īccording to the newest update from 4:30pm Utah Time today, they’re not releasing the program today either. It was 6pm and I still hadn’t received the download email, so I decided to visit their Support page again…which, by the way, is the only way to keep tabs on what they’re doing. The last update from Software MacKiev yesterday indicated that they were planning on releasing it today. Today is now April 4th, and we still have no updated version of Family Tree Maker.
